Junior School Maths Success at the Normanhurst Holiday Rockathon
The Junior School recently took part in an exciting inter-school Maths competition, the Normanhurst Holiday Rockathon, which proved to be both challenging and enjoyable for pupils across the school.
The competition encouraged children to improve their maths fluency, while adding an element of friendly competition that motivated pupils to push themselves. Participation increased across all year groups, from Year 1 through to Year 6, creating a real buzz around maths throughout the Junior School. An impressive 53,773 correct questions were answered during the competition, highlighting the enthusiasm and determination shown by all pupils involved.
Once again, Year 5 were crowned champions, continuing their impressive run and proving themselves tough competition to beat. Year 6 secured second place, closely followed by Year 3, who finished in a well-deserved third place.
Certificates were also awarded to the Most Valuable Players from the Junior School, recognising exceptional effort and commitment. Congratulations go to Khalifa, Amani and Rishi, who completed the podium.
The Normanhurst Holiday Rockathon was a great success and is already having a positive impact in the classroom, with pupils demonstrating improved confidence and results in maths lessons. Well done to all the pupils who took part, and we look forward to the next competition during the Easter break.
