Year 7 Maths

Year 7 started off their new fractions topic with a fun, hands-on maths lesson all about sharing sweets! Pupils were challenged to divide sweets into given fractions and explore why some fractions are easier to split than others.

This practical activity helped students apply their division and multiplication knowledge to find equal groups, deepening their understanding of how fractions work in real-life contexts.

It was a fantastic introduction to the topic, the classroom was full of enthusiasm, teamwork, and problem-solving. Everyone enjoyed a “sweet” way to learn about fractions!
