Harvest Festival 2025

This year’s Harvest Festival was a truly special occasion, held at St Peter & St Paul’s Church in Chingford. The whole school gathered together with parents to celebrate and give thanks.

The service began with our Early Years children, who proudly carried the harvest offerings to the front of the church before the celebrations began. Everyone then stood to sing the traditional hymn “We Plough the Fields and Scatter,” followed by some beautifully read verses from both teachers and pupils.

Year 5 and Year 6 led the congregation through an insightful presentation on the history of the Harvest Festival and its significance around the world. We were also delighted to listen to Revd. Darren McCallig, only a month into his new role at the church, who gave a lively and interactive talk, even inviting volunteers to help create words linked to the meaning of Harvest.

The celebration concluded with a few heartfelt closing words from Headmistress Mrs Job, before everyone joined together once more to sing “Cauliflowers Fluffy.”

A huge thank you to all who attended and for the generous harvest donations, which will be given to the Highams Park Food Bank. Your kindness and support truly reflect the spirit of the season.
