Benedict's Law Assembly

Junior pupils took part in a live Picture News assembly with Clare Bristow from the Sadie Bristow Foundation, exploring allergies and how we can help everyone feel safe, supported and included at school.

During the assembly, Clare explained what an allergy is and introduced the new allergy-safety requirements known as Benedict's Law. Pupils learned about the importance of understanding and respecting the needs of others, as well as the simple actions they can take to help keep everyone safe. These included listening carefully to others, being aware of potential risks and telling an adult if someone is feeling unwell. The session encouraged thoughtful discussion and helped pupils understand why allergy awareness is so important. It highlighted how every member of our school community can play a part in caring for and including children with allergies.

We are very proud of how engaged our pupils were throughout the assembly. As a recognition of their participation, each class received a certificate. We hope that the knowledge gained from this valuable experience will help our pupils become even more aware, considerate and supportive moving forward. We would like to thank Picture News and Clare Bristow (Sadie Bristow Foundation) for delivering such an informative and inspiring assembly.
