EYFS Launch Black History Month

The children had a wonderful afternoon launching Black History Month in the Early Years Department. This year, our theme is 'honouring our communities'. We began the afternoon by sharing the story 'We All Belong'. The children then enjoyed exploring different instruments from around the world, discussing the different colours of our skin and creating handprints to make a lovely display for our room. They also used small-world dolls and toys to recreate places in our local community and explore the different people who help us. We finished the afternoon with some carnival dancing, using colourful scarves to dance along to the music! We look forward to lots more fun activities over the coming weeks as we continue to celebrate Black History Month.
