Year 4, 5 & 6 Residential
Our Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils recently enjoyed an unforgettable residential trip to Gulliver's Land alongside Mrs Job, Miss Stone, Mr Masters, Mr Davies and Mrs Bloomfield. It was an amazing experience filled with adventure, laughter and memories that we are sure will last a lifetime. From the moment they arrived, the children were absolute superstars and fantastic ambassadors for our school. Throughout the residential, they consistently demonstrated our school values and showed exemplary behaviour. The teachers were incredibly impressed by their kindness, enthusiasm, resilience and positive attitudes. On the first day the children took part in a range of exciting activities. They tested their skills during disc golf, showed great concentration and determination during archery, and enjoyed getting up close to a variety of fascinating creatures during the reptile encounter. After a busy afternoon, everyone settled into their rooms and prepared for an evening of fun. The day ended with a lively disco where the children danced, sang and celebrated together and we saw some great moves from the teachers too! Before bedtime, they returned to their cabins for stories and marshmallows.
The next day was just as exciting despite some rainy weather. The children enjoyed a walk around the farm, where they had the opportunity to feed some of the animals and learn more about life on the farm. They then put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test during a bushcraft shelter-building challenge. With rain clouds overhead, the children worked incredibly quickly and efficiently to construct shelters that would help keep them dry. The day continued with a series of team-building sports games, encouraging communication, encouragement and teamwork. Another activity was a unique drumming experience using buckets, where the children created rhythms and performed together. When the rain returned, there was still plenty of fun to be had, with time spent letting off steam in the soft play area. That evening, the excitement continued with a dinosaur trail adventure before everyone settled down for a movie night complete with snacks and drinks. After a fun-filled evening, the children headed back to their cabins for a slightly later bedtime than usual!
The final day began with a cooking workshop, where the children enjoyed developing their culinary skills. This was followed by a much-anticipated visit to the theme park, where everyone had the opportunity to choose rides to enjoy with their friends and teachers. After lunch, it was time to head back to school, tired but full of wonderful memories. The residential was a tremendous success from start to finish, and every child should be incredibly proud of themselves. The teachers are proud of every single one of them and would like to thank the children for making the trip such a positive, enjoyable and memorable experience.
