Year 1-4 Bath Bombs
Our pupils in Years 1 to 4 have been busy diving into the world of chemistry by creating their very own Bath Bombs. The lessons kicked off with a look at the Science behind the bubbles. The children explored the concept of chemical reactions, learning how specific dry ingredients can sit quietly together until they are "activated" by water. We discussed how this creates a gas (carbon dioxide), which is exactly what causes that fizz in the water! After watching a live demonstration that sent bubbles through our water, it was time for the students to become creators. There was fantastic focus as they measured, mixed, and pressed their ingredients into moulds. This hands-on activity was a brilliant way to demonstrate how materials change state and how different substances combine to form a completely new product. Every pupil has now taken their handmade creation home. We hope they enjoy watching the final stage of their scientific experiment in action!
