Fire Station Trip

Early Years had a fantastic time visiting the fire station. They enjoyed a sunny walk there and talked about the important role firefighters play, as well as common causes of fires at home, such as candles being accidentally knocked over.

The children were especially excited to use the hose to help put out a fire, it even sprayed like rain and created a beautiful rainbow. They also had the opportunity to sit inside the fire engine and explore the equipment, while Ms Sherrie tried on firefighter gear.

The children asked some thoughtful questions, including “What was your biggest fire?” and “What is upstairs where the fire pole is?” The firefighters showed us the fire pole, and they even watched one of them slide down it. They made sure to cover our ears when the siren sounded too!
