A Letter from Buckingham Palace

Last term, the Junior pupils at Normanhurst participated in a birthday card competition to celebrate King Charles’ 76th birthday. The winning entries were sent to Buckingham Palace.

In response, the pupils received a lovely letter of thanks back from the Head of Royal Correspondence.

The Junior Pupils of Normanhurst School

The King has asked me to thank you for your splendid handmade birthday cards.

It was so kind of you to take the trouble to write as you did. Although His Majesty is unable to reply personally, I can tell you that The King was heartened to know that a card making competition was held in honour of His Majesty’s 76th Birthday. The King would have me convey his hope that the competition was enjoyed by everyone involved and sends his congratulations to the Year 1 and Year 3 pupils who enclosed their winning cards.

Thank you, once again, for thinking of His Majesty, who has asked me to send his warmest good wishes to all at Normanhurst School.

Yours sincerely,

Head of Royal Correspondence
