In a playful yet educational activity, the EYFS children at Normanhurst were given the opportunity to vote on whether their teacher, Miss Stone, should dye her hair blue or pink. The decision was designed to introduce the pupils to the concept of voting and decision-making in a fun and age-appropriate way.
The children took part in circle time, where they were given pink or blue voting slips. Each child could then decide on the colour that they favoured the most. The process was guided by teachers who explained the importance of voting and how each person’s opinion matters in a democracy.
The next day, Miss Stone surprised the children with her new hair colour by wearing a wig in their classroom, which they all loved!
