This week the Early Years Department celebrated Chinese New Year.
We began by exploring some of the traditions that take place during the Lunar New Year. It was lovely to hear some of the children share the ways they celebrate at home.
The children had a lot of fun engaging in creative activities such as making lanterns, masks and dragon puppets. There was also a role-play area where the children could cook and serve Chinese food to their peers and we even had noodles and prawn crackers for our snack.
Reception and Kindergarten ended the celebrations by performing a dragon dance and listened to a story about the “Nian Monster”.
