European Day of Languages Challenge

On Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 September, Gabby, Mehrnaz, Yazmina, Salah, Owais, Yusuf (11J) Esta, Ridoy, and Ben (11B) made a presentation about the 2022 European Day of Languages, on behalf of Year 11 languages students. Both junior and senior pupils were quizzed about some translations of famous children’s book covers, which they were all able to recognize.

At the end of the assembly, Gabby, Esta and Yazmina launched a whole school challenge for junior and senior pupils.

Pupils can either write a social media post in a language that’s not English, to share a positive message about languages and language-learning, or create a video. The topic that pupils can include in the video are:  which languages you speak, understand or are learning; which languages you would like to learn and why; your best language-learning experience – in or out of school; top tips to get better at languages.

The deadline to take part in the challenge is the 7th of October and pupils will randomly be selected amongst the participants, to win House Points and chocolates.
