World Afro Hair Day

On Thursday 15^th September, Normanhurst Juniors celebrated World Afro Day with a special assembly. World Afro Day founded a global day of change, education and celebration of Afro hair and identity with 2022 marking the 5^th anniversary. Pupils in Lower Kindergarten to Year 5 had a special assembly in their classrooms and read stories such as ‘Hair Love’ and ‘Mega Magic Hair Swap’. Year 6 joined a live stream assembly with other students from around the country and were able to interact with the presenters too.
