In RE this term, Year 3 have been learning about Hinduism, specifically learning about the festival of Diwali and how Hindus celebrate it. The children have created their own Diwa Lamp which Hindus use during the festival of Diwali as a way to guide home Goddess Lakshmi. They created their lamps out of clay by learning a technique called ‘coiling’ where the lamp was built up step-by-step using coiled pieces of clay. Once dry, the children then painted their own designs on the lamps using bright colours. The Diwa Lamps look amazing, well done Year 3!
