On Friday 22 June the KS1 pupils went on an RE trip to the Redbridge Jewish Community Centre as part of their learning about Judaism in RE lessons this term. The Redbridge JCC is Mr Grants place of worship and he accompanied KS1. While visiting, the children participated in three activities, a discussion about Shabbat led by Mr Grant, a Hebrew writing workshop led by a visiting Israeli Youth Worker and a Jewish artefacts discussion led by the centre manager.
After a snack and short break the children were sat down to have a talk with the Rabbi Dansky who showed them one of the sacred Torah scrolls and answered questions the children had all about Judaism. Before the end of the visit pupils from each class presented Rabbi Dansky with cards to say thank you.
