A group of Junior pupils had a taste-tingling food tasting session with the Smart Raspberry Cookery company as part of our Black History Month celebrations. Rachel shared some of her family’s history, about her Mother who is part of the Windrush Generation. Then the children had the chance to try a refreshing smoothie made with several of the tropical fruits that they were introduced to.
The children enjoyed seeing and learning about lots of different fruits from the Caribbean, including bread fruit, papaya, guava and prickly pear. The children also enjoyed trying a puff puff, which is a traditional Ghanaian treat.
