The Early Years have had a wonderful week finding out all about the Chinese New Year of the tiger.
Throughout the week there have been creative and musical experiences that took everyone on a journey to China.
On Monday afternoon, there was a Chinese themed role play area full of beautiful dressing up outfits and everything you need for a Chinese restaurant. On Tuesday the children came together for an afternoon exploring the tastes and smells of China as they enjoyed a Chinese banquet for afternoon snack. They have made lanterns, written their names in Chinese writing and not only read the story of ‘The Great Race’, but acted it out with masks and props in the garden area. In the Early Years assembly, they listened to the story ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ and thought about what they might paint to make the world a better place. It has been a lovely week enjoyed by everyone!
