Year 3 went out on a Forest Walk this morning to look at how soil is formed, linking to their topic of ‘Rock Detectives’. To understand how soil is formed, they have created their own ‘wormery’ in each classroom, showing how worms translocate the different levels of soil. The children explored the forest, searching for wiggly-worms to put into the wormery, and very carefully looked after them until the wormery was set-up. Once we have taken care of the worms, we will ‘release’ the worms back into the forest!
