The Captain Tom Challenge
Normanhurst School were delighted to raise money for good causes and help spread a message of hope. Captain Tom received support from far and wide this year on Friday 30th April the Junior School took part in inspiring the next generation of Captain Tom’s.
We decided on the 100 challenge. The children in Early Years walked 100 steps and collected 100 sticks. The juniors each did 100 star jumps and the children were all asked to bring in 100 pennies.
Year 5 and 6 went down to Chingford Plains to complete the 100 challenge for Captain Tom’s birthday. Year 5 and 6 worked in teams of 5 to complete 100 star jumps, 100 walking laps and throwing for 100 seconds. They all had great fun and thought it was a brilliant way to celebrate Captain Tom’s birthday and to remember him.
Thank you to everyone that took part and helped to raise £61.50. This will go towards Young minds one of our charities.
Thank you everyone who took part.
