Senior Able, G&T Trip to The Houses of Parliament

Our visit started in the newly built Education Centre, followed by a brisk walk to the Palace of Westminster.  We saw where the Queen arrives for the State Opening of Parliament in her horse drawn coach.

We continued through the Royal Gallery, visited by the Prime Minister of India and President of China last year.  Then on to the opulent House of Lords defined by its famous red benches, and though into the famous Central Lobby often seen on television.  Next we went on to the “No Lobby” used in divisions and then proceeded into the famous debating chamber itself, where students observed the Speaker’s Chair and noted where Prime Minister Theresa May sits.

There was so much more to the trip, and the full story can be seen in the upcoming newsletter.
