11W and Mr Walwyn presented a fantastic assembly this morning based on the theme “Awe and Wonder”.
In keeping with the theme, the presentation of the assembly was truly unique. There was a live skype link from the Science laboratory to the school hall and the pupils watched an amazing live experiment using liquid nitrogen to freeze flowers which were then brought into the hall so that pupils could see the effect of the liquid nitrogen on the flowers.
11W also used audio visual presentations to look at natural phenomena and break through inventions in Science and technology.
The idea of the assembly was to encourage pupils to reflect and ask questions about the world we live. We saw incredible feats achieved by scientists and the occurrences in the natural world that are both amazing and mysterious.
