Year 11 attended Poetry Live! at the Dominion Theatre in Tottenham Court Road last Friday. This was an invaluable opportunity for our pupils to hear some of the poems that they have been studying for their GCSE English exam being read live and talked about by the poets who wrote them. Among these poets were Simon Armitage, Carol Ann Duffy (Britain’s Poet Laureate in 2009) and Daljit Nagra. There were opportunities for students to ask the poets questions about their work and examiners from AQA exam board also provided hints and tips for exam success.
